Call to Order: CTBO – Week 10 Draw is TODAY!
1. Land Acknowledgement
2. Guests : Tena Hart, winner of last week’s Catch The Big One, and Don McAdam (previous CTBO winner).
3. Visiting Rotarians: None.
4. Birthdays and Anniversaries : Fran & Rick Hubbs - May 4th (48 years) Gary Williams - May 5 Kristi Green – May 9
5. Approval of Minutes : April 30th, 2024 minutes were approved.
6. Presentations : None.
7. Correspondence : The Sam Waller Museum has provided information for Rotary members, and Monica shared that The Pas Arts Council will begin the Home Routes program again, with Naomi Shore being the first performer (singer)
                                    on May 14 at 7 PM, and tickets are available at the door. This takes place in the “Rotary Room” at the Museum. Also, Jaxon Baker, Director of the Sam Waller Museum, had provided information that because Rotary
                                     is a member of the Sam Waller Museum there is free admission and a 10% discount in the gift shop. Museum events are also shared on the Museum Facebook page and website.
8. Committee Reports: a. CTBO. Kevin Bagnall’s name was drawn. It was not the Ace of Spades, so the game continues on to May 14.
9. Board of Directors Report: No report.
10. New Business : a. Summer clean up & BBQ. The Rotary Board had discussed the idea of other community projects and thought a community clean-up would be a good one to be involved with – many parts of the community do need to
                                     be Rotary Club of The Pas Minutes Tuesday, May 7th , 2024 at 12:00 P.M. Wescana Rendezvous Room cleaned up, especially this time of year. We will work with other groups to see about dates and any other plans, 
                                     as it seems the CDC will be spearheading a clean-up this month. All details will be provided to our Club so that members can plan to be involved if they are available.
                                  b. Rotary Club of Winnipeg (Downtown) - Hygiene Project for Cormorant. Don McKay provided information which Rick had found about “True North Aid” which a Rotary Club in Winnipeg has partnered with to
                                      provide hygiene products in Cormorant. They are also partnered with the Medicine Shoppe in Winnipeg, so Rick suggested it will be easiest to send a monetary donation to the Club in Winnipeg to work with the
                                      stores and groups they are already connected with. Monica will connect with the Winnipeg Rotary contact to indicate that we are interested in assisting and to find out the best way to do so. She will also check on
                                      further information about “True North Aid” and potential future partnerships with this group and with other Rotary clubs.
                                  c. Opasquia Times Rotary MBCI Grad Recognition. The Club agreed we will send a congratulations to MBCI and OLC graduates. This is within the budget, and Don McKay will provide a color ad for the papers to
                                      run.

                                  e. Other: i. Tent Set-up for Co-op Grand Opening. Doug Long advised that the Rotary tents will be used for the Co-op Grand Opening this Thursday. Volunteers are needed to load the tents from the C-Can tomorrow
                                                    (Wednesday) at noon. Please be there to assist if you are able. There is no need to set the tents up at Co-op as they will have a crew to take care of that.
11. Unfinished Business: a. Patronage coupon book. No discussion today.
12. Club Banners: No new information available at this time.
13. Exchange Student and RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award): Julia McKay advised that an exchange student is booked to come to The Pas (from Brazil) towards the end of August. We need a Rotary member to host the student
                                                                                                                      for about a month before they move to their longer-term family. Linda must have the paperwork in by mid next week, so please consider this, let others know, and
                                                                                                                      connect with Linda to confirm anyone who may be interested.

15. Club 100th Anniversary (2029) PERMANENT AGENDA ITEM:
16. & $$$ Sargent at Arms Next Week: Don McKay. Don is away next week, so another Member will be needed to step up to be Sargent at Arms. Don Murphy agreed to do this for the May 14 meeting.
17. May 14 – Connie Lucian -The Legion is overseeing Canada Day festivities and they will be looking for help with the running of it.Don will be leaving for Winnipeg this day and returning on Friday.
      May 28 - Next Board of Directors meeting.
