5. Minutes: Draft of May 6 Minutes sent
6. Presentations: Rick reported on the recent district conference he attended. Speakers were
excellent. One participant suggested the use of an OWL to enable those who cannot attend
meetings the option of doing so virtually. The use of an OWL would require the club to
purchase a Zoom subscription. Rick also mentioned that due to the current political climate in
the US and its resulting problematic boarder crossing, the headquarters of Rotary IN-
international is considering moving to another country.

i. POS Training session – Professor Watier to present (postponed)
ii. CTBO rules – No new information
iii. Congratulations to Vicky Crossley whose ticket resulted in envelope number 25 being
opened. The ACE of SPADES was revealed giving Vicky nice tidy sum of $14956.00 as our
Round 8 jackpot winner!

10. Unfinished Business:
a. Trade Show - Friday, May 8 to May 10 - Ten booklets of CTBO tickets were sold
over two days at the trade show. Although efforts of club member helped to achieve this total, it
seems that the cuteness and innate selling skills of one specific seller were instrumental in this
achievement. Sandra Shapirowas very appreciative of our efforts. The chambers tries to spread
the front door staffing around to support a variety of community groups. The cheque we
received for staffing the Trade Show was just under $1479.00. There were 1700 people this year
which is down from the 3000 last year. Fire evacuations are probably the main reason for this.
Don Mc mentioned that we are planning to sell tickets at a booth in the arena next year and
display a full size Shelter Box. He voiced a concern about staffing was expressed that if we get
to staff the Trade Show next year and we opt to sell our own CTBO tickets on the arena floor.
The floor would allow us more exposure . It was also suggested that we consider handing out
Rotary information pamphlets next year as well.
b. Meals on Wheels – All is well. This will be removed on the next agenda.
c. Name tags – Peter, Val (2), Abe Tags have been ordered.
d. UCN Roteract club – Don 3 to contact UCN admin about starting a club.
11. New Business :
a. Social Meeting – One non-business meeting every two months was one option suggested.
Some questions raised asked who pays for the meal and are guests invited? It was decided that
this will be revisted in the fall with the plan to implement some form of it.
b. Getting to know one another – Only one person has submitted anything. Don 3 implored
to group to be more involved. Although I have been part of this club for 2.5 years and I have an
idea who everyone is as a person I do not KNOW most beyond what I have seen. This activity
will help myself and the few new people to get to know their Rotary Club family just a little bit
better. Come on people. This will be fun.
c. Safe Grad – our participation has been confirmed. Gary Morrish has take on the role of
overseeing this. Contact information of the MBCI Sage Grad Ball committee has been shared.
d. It was suggested that the club run a summer get together.in the first week of June. The
date was set at June 13 due to the availability of the Airport Hall. It was also suggested that a
bus be booked to allow people to hop the bus from The Pas and take the same bus on the way
back home. This allows safer travel
