The meeting started with the land acknowledgement.
We have no birthdays,; two anniversaries –Keith and Mel Young, and Don and
Kathy McKay, no makeups, no visiting Rotarians, no guests
The next Board of Director’s meeting is July 23, 2024 at 10:30 a.m.
The minutes of July 9th were approved.
Requests for donations from the Ag Society and the Airport Hall were received.
Northern View Lodge requested funding for an AED. All will be discussed at next
week’s board meeting.
Don Murphy was inappropriately harassing Rick, for which he will be heavily
fined.
Canada Day recap – planning should start earlier next year.
Mural – will be unveiled in September. Little John is requesting that we pay for
his travel. The O’Toole family appreciates the new mural, but no longer consider
it to be Mike’s work. It is unknown if they will attend the unveiling.
The social evening went very well, the food was great. Don collected $600 in
fines, which was donated to the airport hall. Bocce ball was a blast. John would
like a trophy to acknowledge his championship. Rick thinks we should have
another social evening next month. This will be discussed.
Patronage booklet – tabled.
Musical Ride – July 31 – Val has tickets. Gates will open at 4 pm. Beef on a bun
will be available. Dignitaries will enter at 6:45, show will follow.
Rodeo – August 16 to 18 Entry $40 per day or $80 for the weekend. Weekend
passes include a pancake breakfast on Sunday morning.
Club Banner – nothing to report.
Fish Fry – September 21 – Rick will source out fish suppliers. Monica, can you
please try to ascertain if anything else is happening in town on that date???
RYLA There four students going to the camp. Linda will check with Julia to see if
they all have rides.
Exchange Student – Joao from Brazil will be arriving at the end of August. He will
stay with Rick and Fran for a couple of weeks, but we will NEED a host family after
that.
Marathon – it is on Sunday. There 77 participants registered thus far, Michael is
hoping for 135. Immediately following the meeting, Gary needs muscle to move
tables, chairs, and tents.
Tent set up will be at 10:00 on Saturday morning.
50/50 Doug was drawn, no luck. He will be sargeant next week.
The meeting concluded with the four -way test.
