a. Catch The Big One

ii. This week’s ticket belonged to The Pas Dental Clinic (Group ticket!)
Envelope # 9 was opened to reveal the 3 of spades close but not the ace!
The Pas Dental Clinic group claims $900 as this week’s consolation
winner. The jackpot will be $22 544.50 with another ticket being drawn
on January 27 .
iii. Discussion regarding life after CTBO has run its course. Things seemed
to be settling to selling 600 $100 tickets for trips running in two draws,
one around Christmas and the other on Canada Day. Tickets would be
sold for an 3 month time period prior to the draw date. The Canada
Day draw would be for trips focusing on Canada destinations while the
other would be more open. Winner would have the option of taking a trip
of a specific value or 75% of that trip’s value.
Total value of trips per draw will be $30 000 with $30000 going to the club.
600 tickets x $100 per ticket = $60 000

10. Unfinished Business:
a. Letter to The Pas Association for Human Development (TPAHD) about
access to funds from dissolving the entity – This letter has been sent
b. Val Miron requested to increase our support of The Pas Handi-Van from
$1000 to $2000. The club has approved Val Miron’s request to fund the
Handi Van for an additional $1000. The total donation 2000 will be made
during the Handi-Van pledge show in March.
11. New Business:
a. Wayne Jacobsen will be in Flin Flon on Thursday, June 11 for their Paul
Harris event. Maybe we could do something on dinner on Fri, June 12
at the Clearwater Lake Hall. Can we make a decision on this? The Jun
12 date weas confirmed. Don Mc will ask Michael to confirm the date.
Further planning will take place later.
b. The legion posts a list of donations made over the course of the year. Has
the club ever considered doing this? This was seen as a good idea.
c. Confirm MBCI Bursary wording – The wording was confirmed. The 3rd
bursary for vocational training has never been claimed though. The decision
was made to run it for another year. If it goes unclaimed next year the funds
would be used for one of the other types.
ROTARY BURSARIES -
The Pas Rotary Club will present 4 awards to MBCI graduating students in the amount of $1000 each. The criteria
for 2 of the awards is based on entering a post secondary education program with satisfactory academic
achievement, involvement in community and school extracurricular activities, and financial need. 3rd award is
for graduates entering into trades and technology. 4th award is for graduates who are entering into post
secondary education, but they must have a family member who is/was a Rotarian (parent, grandparent, brother or
sister). Please note on your application your affiliation/relationship to a Rotary Member as well as participation in
leadership camps or involvement Rotary activities. Bursary payment will be paid in one payment upon
verification of enrollment being received by the Rotary Club of The Pas.
d. GG#2685973 $2,000 to be received by RC of Saskatoon North by Jan 31
e. Salute to Trappers’ - 3” by 5” $150 or ¼ page $210 both in colour. The
group approved the 3” by 5” add for $150. Don Mc will contact them to
confirm. DONE!
f. Touques – There was new information when the agenda was sent out. Don Mc
went to Stitchworx Tuesday morning but Devin was not there. A message
was left and contact was requested regarding the status.
