Call to Order:
CTBO – We will begin the Catch The Big One draw again in March with a new game.

5. Approval of Minutes : Any minutes for December dates which have not yet been
received will be reviewed for approval at our first meeting in January 2025.
6. Presentations : none
7. Correspondence : Rotary International Convention early bird pricing is now no
longer available. Honoring Indigenous Peoples program was considered by the Board and
for this year it has been determined support would not be provided. Peter Imhoff has asked
for our decision on supporting Pauingassi, and it was decided the current location request
will not be supported as it falls outside of our area.
8. Committee Reports:
     a. Catch The Big One – Don D. confirmed that it is approved that CTBO sales can be suspended July and August and through the

         Christmas season. He is awaiting additional information about another way of arranging the payouts and will report back once

         information is available. He mentioned 50% of the accumulator pot, with 20% payout weekly, but potential to hold back for

         final draw (save 20% to put toward the next game). The official rules would have to be changed to allow this. He had asked               Lotteries about allowing different purchase points as well – for example, buy 4, get one ticket free. Discussion took place

         about how this would be managed and all tickets accounted for – this may be too much “accounting” for all sellers. Things are

         working well now with sales, so why change something which may be more confusing rather than find other ways to increase

        sales for regular ticket prices. More advertising and more sellers through technology, etc., will have the same effect. There was

        already approval for 20% of sales for operational costs. For now, general agreement was that the game/ticket sales remain the

        same for next time round. Further discussion may occur as more information is received.
9. Board of Directors Report:
10. New Business :
       a. Michael will continue to talk to his contact about price of Lobster so we can plan a drive-through event in May. This will be

            on the agenda until we can make a final decision as information about prices is shared.
       b. Members are reminded that we are booked at the A&W for our meetings in January and the first two weeks of February.
       c. The Clearwater Marathon is confirmed for July 20th, 2025 – 1k, 3k,5k, 10k and 21k distances are available. The organizers

            are using the same registration system as last year.
       d. Blair Patience let the Club know that the new Canada Flag was put up on July 1 this year, and it is still in great shape. In

            other years, the flag has been looking a little weary by now.
11. Unfinished Business :
      a. Shelter Box drawings/graphics. Don McKay shared that the jump drive he thought held the 3D file for printing actually lead

           to a website and not the actual Shelter Box graphic. Rick will look into finding the full-blown item again for display and

           presentations for people to learn more and support Shelter Box – for example at our local trade show and at other events. This

           will be discussed further at a later date.
12. Club Banners : Don McKay continues to look into new banners, including banners for CTBO sales and has been working with

      Contempra signs. Three banners size 4 x 2 would suffice for table attachment for ticket sales and for other events. Banners will

      include our name and Rotary logos/wheel and can include Bill Bannock logo as well. It was noted that these could be ordered

      locally at the new print/engraving store. Connie has the images as she indicates they were not hers to sell, so if approved and

      banners are ordered locally, she will share what is needed. There was some discussion about shopping locally and about using

      Rotary sanctioned businesses as well.
13. Exchange Student and RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) : Jaoa will go to Rick’s for the two days in December and

      again in January when Linda is away. Jaoa joined the meeting and was presented with his Christmas gift from The Rotary Club

      of The Pas.

17. Fri, Dec 13th & Sat, Dec 14th – Bill McDonald Memorial Basketball Tournament – Don Murphy reported that thetournament                               was very successful. Participants expressed their appreciation and enjoyed the weekend. Thanks to Kent W. for

                           taking care of the payments to refs as Don D. was not able to attend. The contribution from DMC has not

                           been received yet, and Don M. mentioned that as they had done so well with contributions from local businesses as

                           well as finding some local refs, they may not require the contribution this year and perhaps can check into carrying

                           this forward for next year. We will look for local refs again next year – Andrew Forward has mentioned if we can

                           put on more clinics to train local youth for time-keeping and refereeing for the North, we can have a larger pool to

                           select from in future. The total cost was ultimately about $115 to run the entire tournament! There were 16 teams,

                           and this is the maximum number we can host with the space and supports we have here.
18. Four-Way Test: Is it the TRUTH?
                                 Is it FAIR to all concerned?
                                Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
                                 Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
