Don McKay presented two cheques to Val Berschied – one for $2,000 for the upcoming Rodeo and the other for
$2,000 for the RCMP Musical Ride. Val thanked the Club and reported on the upcoming Rodeo which will include professional
bull-riding (including 3 from Australia, and riders from AB, SK and MB), and the trick riders will also be here this year. The
planning committee is very excited for the upcoming weekend – there will be the concession, the music, all of the gymcana
events, red-neck challenges, wild pony racing, mutton busting and other events….and it looks like the weather will cooperate as
     well!
Don presented Michael O’Rourke with a cheque for $1,500 for the Clearwater Lake Hall order of round tables, and Michael
thanked the Club on behalf of the Clearwater Lake Hall. Another cheque was presented to Jaxon Baker, Director of the
SamWaller Museum. This cheque was in the amount of $2,500 for new chairs for the Rotary Room at the Museum.

8. Committee Reports: None.
9. Board of Directors Report:
    a. The Board members for July 1st, 2024 to June 30th, 2025 will be the same as present – and if any other members wish to step
up into a Board position, they are welcome to let Don know!
    b. Fish Fry – If we sell 200 tickets, Rick indicates that we will need more cooks. Crystal asked if we want to determine the
break-even point, or maximum number of people. The Club agreed that we will aim for 200 and we can then use the round
the date of our September 21 fish fry. Margaret suggested that we can also sell plates on-line for pick-up, but Rick did mention
that due to health regulations this may not be allowed – however, if we have people with their food safe certificate, this may be
a possibility. We can also discuss further how to manage the individuals who are in the back lane and who may be interested in
a meal. Monica will work at gathering prizes the same as last year – but we will consider a higher price for tickets to the bigger
items (depending on what can be gathered for prizes this year).
11. Unfinished Business:
      a. Other mural related items. We will determine a date in September for the “unveiling” of the new mural. John (the artist)
would like to attend. We will know by next week if the O’Toole family will attend as well.
      b. Patronage booklet. This will be discussed further before the end of September.
12. Club Banners. Don McKay will be in Winnipeg again and speaking with the company which may be able to assist with creating
      the new banners.
13. Exchange Student and RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award): Please share the need for billets for the exchange student
coming from Brazil in late August – Rick and Fran Hubbs will host for a short time when he arrives, but host families are
needed through the school year. Julia McKay reminded the Club that the RYLA participants will come to a Rotary meeting to
share their experience once school is back in session in September.
