8. Committee Reports:
a. Catch The Big One - Ticket sales have resumed, and the next draw will be on September 15. The poster needs to be corrected - #10 was chosen at the last draw, so that needs to be removed, and #52 needs to be put back on the poster. Don D. will ensure updated posters are printed. Members noted also that the tickets were not perforated this time – so a reminder will be provided for the next round of tickets that they need to be perforated.
9. Board of Directors Report: No report. Rotarians at the meeting discussed the bursary issue for Jacob Bottcher (using bursary for required tools for Apprenticeship Program rather than tuition – as he has received a full scholarship). It was agreed that Jacob will be advised the bursary can be used for tools, either with Rotary making the purchase, or with Jacob providing a receipt for the purchase.
10. Unfinished Business:
a. Confirmation that we will have 4 Rotarians available to run the bar for UCN Linkages on October 6 (each server must have their Safe Serve Certification). Last week a number of “maybes” – are we able to confirm 4 people…not yet. We will need to confirm asap, and no later than September 8 (they had hoped to hear from us with a confirmation by September 4).
11. New Business:
13. RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award): We will await convenient dates from Julia for the seniors and juniors to provide a report on their experiences.
