4. Birthdays & Anniversaries :
Today would have been Connie & Art Chartrand’s 36th anniversary – sadly Connie passed away on Sunday, June 28/26.Condolences to Art and family.

8. Committee Reports:
   a. Catch The Big One  -  The Ace of Spades is still hiding – today the Ace of Hearts was opened and the consolation prize was $ 1,539, won by Cindy Germain.
Tuesday, September 15 will be the next draw, as we will not be selling tickets over the summer.
 
 9. Board of Directors Report:
        a.  Northern Lights Seniors Housing Project – A letter of support has been agreed to. It was
             decided that as funds are not needed at this point the letter does not need to state an
             amount.       
 
10. Unfinished Business:
         a. Rotary support for Canada Day Fireworks.  We had agreed to provide a contribution of $2,000 towards the fireworks display on July 1.
 
11. New Business: a. Memorial for Connie Chartrand.  Connie’s service is on Friday, July 3rd at 1 pm at Hemauer Funeral Home.  Please wear your Rotary jersey if you are available to attend.
                                b. Remembrance donation for Connie.  $500 will be contributed to suicide prevention support.
                                c. Devon Park flag lowering (Connie Chartrand).  Don McKay confirmed that the flag will be lowered on Thursday for Connie’s passing (Ken Kelly will do this as Blair is away), and will remain down for Friday which is the day of the service for Connie, and Blair will raise the flag on Saturday.
                                d.  Other Flag Protocol.  Don Mckay shared that a person had commented on our Facebook page that they were interested in being buried with the Canada flag and Don wondered whether there can/should be an allowance for gifting “retired” flags under any circumstances.  Blair and others indicated that the correct protocol is for “retired” flags to be burned.
                                e.  Radio Spots.  Don will no longer officially be President after July 1 and visiting the radio station on a regular basis as he will be way for part of the summer. There are pre-paid spots available.  Doug indicated that the amount we pay for the Rotary radio spots is very reasonable and we should use these spots for pre-recorded messages (eg. CTBO, etc., Clearwater Lake Marathon, etc.).

13. RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) :    No Report.
