Darrell Brown was at the door, Mitch Brown was Chairman. We had apologies from Graeme Isaacson, Brian Pearson and Larry Murray.

President Paul Seymour welcomed all members and guests: David Blackmore (guest of Angus Miller), Ellen and Jaqueline Wark (yes, they are sisters!), promoting the upcoming Rotary Youth Leadership Camp (RYLA) in January next year, our regular Rotaractors Kristen ‘KJ’ Jewson, Matt Hayward and, of course, our guest speaker Bill Edgar (see separate article above).

After Bill’s excellent presentation, Ellen and Jacqueline Wark briefly outlined what RYLA is all about. The next camp is from Tuesday 22nd to Sunday 30th January 2022 – only two months away! Our club has always supported RYLA applicants. Click on this link for details.

Ray Higgs elaborated on a huge opportunity relating to hospital equipment which the GC University Hospital offers to donate: valued at around $20 Million (at original purchase value), some 71 food trolleys and corresponding “docking station” refrigeration equipment is available. It would fill some 3 x 40’ containers. We have a ready taker, a hospital in Papua New Guinea, but storage would need to be arranged until shipment can take place, at a total cost of around $7,500. Possibly, this could become a joint project with two other clubs? There will be further discussion on this at this Wednesday’s board meeting.

President Paul also briefly elaborated on our cooperation with 180 Degrees Consulting (see last week’s bulletin), as well as a joint project with Express Recycling to collect cans and bottles for Containers for Change. Paul also urged all to keep Workplace Health & Safety in mind when working at the shed, to ensure that we don’t “overestimate” our capabilities.  More about this in next week's bulletin.

Charles Thomasson and Treasurer Doug Lipp elaborated on the results of our recent fundraising events, the Italian Long Lunch and the Golf Day. Almost $10,000 were raised. Thank you for your sterling efforts, Johnny, Charles, Doug and all the helpers! Gerald East advised that the Polio Plus Movie pre-view event has been postponed to March 2022.
