Rotary Club of Burleigh Heads
Welcome to the Rotary Club of Burleigh Heads
Rooted in Rotary’s timeless motto - Service Above Self - our club exists to turn good intentions into lasting impact.
Since being chartered on 3 October, 1955 by the Rotary Club of Southport, the Rotary Club of Burleigh Heads Inc. has proudly stood as the second-oldest Rotary club on the Gold Coast.
Our story began with 22 founding members meeting at Justin Hall (the site now occupied by the ANZ Bank) - and for seven decades, our members have continued that legacy of connection, innovation, and service.
A Part of Burleigh’s Story for 70 Years
From our earliest community projects to international partnerships, Rotary Burleigh Heads has been deeply woven into the social fabric of our region.
One of our most enduring contributions is the Vocational (Classification) Pole, installed in 1967 at the centre of Burleigh Heads. Unique in Australia, the pole lists the diverse trades and professions that formed the foundation of our local economy - a proud symbol of Rotary’s belief in honouring all vocations and uniting professionals in service to the community.
Over the years, our club has also sponsored the formation of neighbouring clubs - Palm Beach (1976) and Mudgeeraba (1980) - expanding the reach of Rotary’s impact across the southern Gold Coast. We continue that tradition today, working alongside local councils, schools, and charities to deliver projects that build resilience, opportunity, and hope.
