Our exchange student, Zane Morgan, spoke to us about his year in Switzerland so far, describing his progress learning German, particularly navigating Swiss German dialects - and the cultural experiences across the country. He shared highlights such as snowboarding in the Alps, hiking at high altitudes, visiting a chocolate factory, and told us of the more demanding Swiss school system compared to Australia. He said the experience is helping him build friendships and gain confidence in learning a new language. Happy 15th birthday, Zane!
We also inducted our newest member, Krystal Allerby. Krystal has a diverse international background and experience in human resources, mentoring, and leadership. Having lived across several countries and recently spent time in Berlin, she is now building businesses with her husband while remaining active in community initiatives. Her strong commitment to human rights, inclusion, and belonging closely aligns with Rotary’s values.

Julie Van Noort from Gold Coast Sister Connection will be our speaker this week. Gold Coast Sister Connection is dedicated to promoting the health and wellbeing of women in our community. They are proud to offer cost-free programs aimed at supporting women in their wellness journey. They are 100% volunteer run and funded by donations. The organisation is driven by the desire to uplift others through meaningful social and therapeutic interactions.

Meeting Information
We had several visitors with us this week. PDGs Chris Wright and Neil Black, Tri-District Conference Chair Greg Foster and Melanie Foster. Timor-Leste Rotarians, John, Acku and Azu arrived for the conference and are being billeted by Bren.
A challenge has been issued to other Gold Coast clubs for the Miami High trivia night. Get a team together, invite your friends and family and book via the link in the Events section.
Members are encouraged to support the District MUNA event on May 30. The program allows students to represent countries and debate global issues, with strong expectations for success at the national level. See Ross Smith for more information.

Club runner information
If you do not have your Club Runner login information, you can go to the Club Runner website, scroll down a little and click on “Send me a Magic Link”. Enter the email address you gave to the club, and you will receive an email. Click on the login button and then select the club website. Go to ‘My Clubrunner’ and then ‘My Profile’. The ‘Edit’ button is at the top right and you can add/change any information on your profile. Click ‘Save’ and you’re done!

Chance encounter inspires new commitment to End Polio

We often wear our Rotary pins or display our logos out of habit, or a quiet pride. But sometimes, a simple sticker becomes a bridge between two lives.
A few weeks ago, I was in a lounge waiting for my flight when I opened my laptop to get some work done. On the cover is my End Polio Now sticker. A gentleman approached me, intrigued by the logo. What could have been a brief moment of curiosity turned into one of the most moving testimonies I have ever heard. Read more here.

How Conductive Education found a home in South Australia
Driven by one Rotarian’s determination to expand opportunity for his grandson, Conductive Education brought life-changing pathways for children with disabilities to Adelaide.

Members in the 16 World Cup host cities in North America plan events to showcase Rotary and foster international understanding.
Wing-Kai To grew up watching international soccer and idolizing its stars. As a child in Hong Kong, he followed players like Pelé, Franz Beckenbauer, Johan Cruyff, and Diego Maradona.
Now living in the United States, To is a member of the Rotary Club of The Bridgewaters, Massachusetts, USA, and no less enthusiastic about international soccer.
