Supporting Primary School in Tonga
The Rotary Club of Jerrabomberra is supporting projects at the Lapaha General Public School, which is about 25 km from the capital of Tonga, Nuku'alofa. The school has about 280 students and eight teachers and serves the surrounding rural area, but its facilities are run down and in drastic need of refurbishment.
Rotary is providing the school with reliable potable water, upgraded toilet facilities, enhanced teaching facilities and is refurbishing the school classrooms. To assist the local community even further, the work is being conducted by local contractors.
