School Renovation, Lapaha Tonga
With the return of our 15 volunteers on the 7 October from another successful trip to Tonga carrying out refurbish and renovation works on the school buildings and ablutions blocks at a local primary school in the village of Lapaha which is a 40 minutes drive from the Capital Nuku'alofa, singled the end of a 5 year association and the end of the 3 staged Rotary International Matching Grant and RAWCS project. 2010 - First trip and lodgment of a matching Grant with Rotary International. 2013 - Stage 1 local contractors carried out the works associated with the matching grant reinstating fresh water to the school and refurbish the boys toilet block2014 & 2015 - Stage 2 & 3 were RAWCS Projects both with 15 Volunteers who carried out extensive refurbishment to the original school building and security & pest control meshing to the main building and the other buildings.
