Rotary Dragons Den - Third Season

To accommodate all groups, the pitches are limited to a maximum of 5 minutes, to be followed by a few questions from our panel.  Preference will be given to groups serving the Olds area. As there are limited funds available, groups may receive less than what they are looking for. To be eligible to pitch your program at the Dragons’ Den, please complete the form no later than February 16, 2026. If you wish to add additional Information, require an alternate application process or have questions,  please send to rotaryclubofolds@gmail.com. 

The Rotary Club of Olds will screen applications and create a short list of groups who will then proceed to the Dragons Den. Successful applicants will be notified on February 26, 2026, if they have been selected to make a pitch. If your group is selected to make a funding pitch, your application will be distributed to the Dragons. They will vote on all funding requests, after reading your application, and hearing your 5-minute pitch. A cheque presentation will be held at the end of the evening for successful applicants. Due to time constraints, we cannot allow video equipment or slide-show presentations. Additional pamphlets or handouts will not be allowed as our members will not have time to read more than 1 page per pitch. Please remember that the maximum 5 minute per pitch rule has to be strictly enforced, to ensure that all requests can be heard. Further questions may be submitted to rotaryclubofolds@gmail.com. 

 

• Grants will be up to $2,500.00 per project. 
• Grants should meet one of the seven Rotary International Areas of Focus. http://www.Rotary.org or support a community initiative. 
• Grants are awarded for a definite purpose and/or project. If the project changes from the original approval, the Rotary Club of Olds reserves the right to change the funding agreement or revoke acceptance of funding 
• Applications are considered on merit and in light of funds available for distribution. 
• Preference is given to programs and projects which promote group or community volunteer participation and collaboration. 
• Plans for recognition of the support provided by the Rotary Club of Olds (visible signage and/or media coverage) should be included in the presentation. 
• All applications shall be submitted no later than February 16, 20206

The following are ineligible for funding:

• Retroactive funding
• Direct religious activities and political activities
• On-going core operating expenses & regular staff wages
• Incomplete applications
• Applications received after the deadline, February 16,2026  will not be accepted
