International Dinner - Update

Sue provided a number of updates of our upcoming annual dinner this year being presented in partnership with the PACE Rotary Club.

Meeting called to order at 7:15 am by President Sean Blewett
Guests: Dieter Brandt - Medicine Hat Rotary Club

Announcements:

  • Joint International Dinner with the new PACE Rotary Club of Medicine Hat Feb 27, 2010 at the Medicine Hat Curling Club
      • Cost is $35 each
      • Traditional Mexican Food and entertainment
      • Silent Auction
      • Proceeds go to Mexican Schools Project
      • Cocktails 6PM
      • Dinner 7PM
  • Feb 6, 2010 - Leadership Training at Callaghan Inn - Call Sean to register
  • Motion re: Haiti for the club to donate 2 Shelter boxes to the earthquake victims

         Cost $2000 - Motion by Sue.  Seconded by Larry.  Carried

Other:

  • Passing the hat for Haiti
    • club raised $243 to be given to the Salvation Army Haiti fund
    • James H. thanked the club on behalf of the Salvation Army

Discussed what we could do as a district to raise more awareness of the shelter box program - Sean will follow up

Winner of the draw this week was Lorretta Young but no lucky card was pulled

PACE Rotary Club coming to present to our meeting next week
