Rotary International District #5360 Governor Fran Leggett was the Guest Speaker.
D.G. Leggett shared that she was born in Lacombe, AB before many moves that
brought her to Lethbridge where she work at the Agriculture Centre. She’s currently working on developing a fungus to kill dandelions. She educated us about Rotary (the wheel was developed in 1923; in 216 countries 1.2 million members). Message this year is “Peace through Service”, which D.G. Leggett is passionate about. For her, peace is broadly defined as freedom—freedom from war, hunger, polio, etc. She wants to increase our membership as she believes Rotary (and the foundation) are the best vehicles to attain peace.
Meeting Notes:

- New member Pat Schile has been proposed to the club.
- Various schools who received the dictionaries sent Thank You notes to the club
