A little history...

On August 26, 1997 Larry and his family moved to Medicine Hat.
 
In an effort to meet people he joined a "new" Rotary Club that was being formed in November 1997.  He was the fourth founding member of our Sunrise Rotary Club.
 
Larry shared historical documents from the first years of the Sunrise Rotary Club.
 
The club grew to 13 members by February 1998 and by June there were 24 members and the club was chartered.  On charter night the club received numerous gifts including our flags, banner, podium and bell from other Rotary clubs.
 
The first year in existence the club received a Presidential citation for service in all areas of Rotary including Community Service, International Service and Youth.
 
Thanks to Larry for the random bits of history and to all that laid the solid foundation for Sunrise Rotary.

Meeting Notes/Announcements:
·  PACE Club is chartering tomorrow night, March 17, 2010.  Tickets still available.  Event is at 7:00pm at Ralph's.
·  Thanks to Loretta and her husband for building a podium with plaque as a gift for the PACE Club.
·   Sergeant at arms collected cash from many members.
·   Fundraising dance for Chile to be held at the Legion this Saturday, March 20, 2010, call Bill for  tickets.
