You know Les...That guy kinda looks like JACE?!?
While our President frolics in warmer climes, the meeting was chaired by vice-president Jace. We have many good news items to share!
1. Mexican Fiesta (Sue Masterman and Glen Christensen) -- The event was a huge success! 220 people attended the evening, the food was great, the atmosphere festive. Thanks to Craig for his MC skills, keeping the night flowing smoothly, and also for his excel program that helped Glen and crew count the money quickly! All told the early numbers are impressive: silent auction $6057, selling of the presidents $525, 50/50 $1400-ish (thanks to the generosity of the winner who donated it back to the cause), Tequila sales $700 and a donation from ATB Financial (Everyday Hero program) on behalf of Glen C of $250...total around the $9000 mark. Smiles on Mexican school kids = priceless.
2. Jace is still going to Malawi, although alternate transport may be required...his greatest fear? Malawi's legislation on punishment for passing noxious fumes...especially since beans are main dietary staple...
3. Stampede Raffle -- we still need a chair or co-chairs to step forward to organize the volunteers, count some money, etc.
4. Viva Las Vegas -- we need a Chair or Co-Chairs for this too...Bill insists this is not a mamoth task. The structure is in place, some committee members will be returning, the Entertainment and Casino staff are ready to perform, and the day is booked at the Cypress Palace. You can step into this format as Chair, or if you prefer, tweak it a bit or a lot. Bill is willing to help you with this!
5. Kambi reminds us that there is a fundraiser this Saturday at the MH Lodge for Bob Davisson's Haiti Relief project. Please consider attending.
6. Renee wants you to relieve your stress and shred your old confidential papers...AMA is having its Shredding Event at the MH Mall, Saturday March 19th. It is free. Purge that paper and be lightened (or is that enlightened?)!
7. 50/50 was $22 and $273, Brad was drawn, but he did not draw the ace.
Next week...check for greeter and cashier on the website...
There could be leprechauns distributing gold...
