World Community Service and District 5360
President Sean called the meeting to order and introduced his wife and presenter, Karen, to speak on World Community Service. Karen is a member of the Medicine Hat Club and sits on the District WCS Committee. (and don't tell anyone but October 13th is her Birthday!)
World Community Service was established in 1962 and is one of Rotary International's structured programs designed to help clubs and districts achieve their service goals in their own communities and in communities abroad, fostering fellowship and goodwill in the process.
World Community Service occurs when Rotary clubs from two or more countries collaborate on a community service project. Some major projects involving community service are health, hunger, and clean living conditions.
