Q&A's

  • What is the advantage of using a Travel Agent?
    • If using the internet, it is recommended you book directly with an airline.
    • A Travel Agent can assist with complicated travel.  FIT – Fully Inclusive Tour
    • Airlines are not responsible for weather delays.
      Travel agents are great support.
    • Use you VISA or a credit card for paying for flights.  Credit cards will reimburse for non-service.
    • Travellers' cheques are becoming difficult to cash with large service charges at times.
    • Notify your bank if traveling abroad so they will not put a stop on transactions.  Travel with prepaid credit card although some have service charges.
    • Immunization shots are recommended but not all are required.
    • There are countries where traveling visas are required in addition to passports.  Without visas the airline could face $10,000 fines.
    • Travel agents are ranked fifth highest in terms of stress.
    • Renee will receive #1 sales award for AMA in Edmonton next week.  Congratulations!
  • Is the Nexus Card a good idea?
    • It is easy access between the US and Canada.  Not difficult to obtain with an application and interview.
  • Reminders:
    • Health Foundation is looking for DVD's for their new TV.
    • Casino in mid-July around July 12, 2010.
    • International Mexican Fiesta on February 27, 2010, with a total of 123 tickets sold.  The committee needs numbers ASAP.  Still need cash out volunteers.  Clare is still looking for silent auction items.  Total today is 37 with a goal of 50.
    • The total ticket draw was $111.00.  Sue M. was the winner but unfortunately didn't pick the right card.  Sorry Sue.
