Karen Blewett was scheduled to speak to us regarding the recent strategic planning meeting, but has unfortunately been ill.  We will, reschedule her for (hopefully) the business meeting in February.

  • Jace reminded us of the District Conference coming up in May.  The theme:  "my Passion. My World. My Rotary."  All reports back from previous attendees are positive.  Find your passion.  So much is possible through and with Rotary.  Early bird registration (Jan 31st) is $350.  Registering in Feb -Mar is $400.  See the website:  http://www.rotary5360.com/
  • Keith announced that the Canadian Cancer Society is looking for help with their Daffodil Pin Campaign during the month of April.  This involves going to various businesses to drop off pins, collect money on a weekly basis for the month.  A volunteer sheet has been placed on the website, but feel free to contact Keith if you have more questions.
  • Clare made the early announcement of a Rotary scholarship at MHC.  Early details are that it will be $1500.  More details will come shortly,
  • Clare also reported that he will be collecting silent auction items for the Mexican Schools Fiesta evening.  His goal is 100 items.
  • Sargeant at Arms Bill Cooper collected fines and happy dollars...a few of the donations include:  April who announced she will be hiking the Grand Canyon; Coreen who is ecstatic that her neice got a great job and will be (sadly??) moving out of her spare bedroom; Bonnie who reported that Varley's family is having an art show at the Esplanade (currently there so check it out); and Donna who is still enjoying the international students she is hosting, especially their newly found passion for skiing.
  • 50/50 was won by Bill, but not really.  No ace.  He missed out on $132.  Better luck next time.
