Miss a Meeting...Miss a Lot!

President-in-Training Keith Walker opened the Valentine meeting at 7:17 am.  Only one brave spouse attended as a Sweetheart guest (Clare’s significant other Brenda was welcomed).  It is a theory that many other significant others were absent because they were not informed of the Valentine party??  Too bad…Perspective new member John joined us once again and was welcomed. We are hopeful he will be a regular!!
 

After a lovely full breakfast including the famous scones, bacon (lots and lots of bacon!), sausage and cheesy eggs, party planner extraordinaire Sharla explained the Valentine game.  She assured all in attendance that the game could be played successfully without a partner.  Everyone was excited because there was an abundance of chocolate prizes up for grabs…. Sharla asked a series of questions and there was a designated winner at each of the two tables.

1.        Who had the longest engagement period?  Dan and Kambi were the winners.  Kambi did share some insight to her long engagement story…  apparently Paul had the engagement ring long before he asked her to marry him.  When she went in to have it sized the day after she received it  the jeweler thought she was in for a 6 month service check???

2.       Who has turned down a date with a person you ended up with?  Keith shared his romantic side (NOT) when he approached his significant other by stating that all the other co-workers thought it was a good idea for them to date???  Sharla shared that she turned her partner down for a game of golf not once but twice?????

3.       Who has been married the longest?? Glen and Karen won this category although it should be noted that Karen beat Glen by TWO years!!!!

4.       Who had the oldest parents?  Glen and Keith won this one…….although apparently Glen was supposed to be a girl called GLENDA!!??

5.       Who was born 9 months from Valentine’s Day???  Get it??  Keith was the closest…

6.       Who has a Valentine’s tattoo?  Although some expressed a desire for a tattoo….there was no ink in this group?

7.       Who has lived in their current home the least amount of time?  Dan and John won in this category.

Then without further ado President Elect Keith declared the VALENTINE’S PARTY over!!!!!! Whew…..and there was copious amounts of chocolate (thanks Sharla) shared by all.

  • TUESDAY FEB. 18TH MEETING IS CANCELLED!!
  • Eat around MH is March 14th
  • Fines included Happy Dollars and Renee shared her daughters stories directly from the Olympics in Russia.
