Meeting Notes:

  • The Nominating Committee presented their slate of new Officer and Board candidates to take office July 1, 2010.  Their nominations included:

                President Elect      Jace Anderson

                Secretary              Keith Walker

                Director                Donna Yancie-Schneider

                Director                James Hagglund

President Sean called for nominations from the floor.  There were none.  Accordingly, the proposed slate of candidates were acclaimed .  Congratulations to Jace, Keith, Donna and James and thank you for stepping up to take on these roles for the club.

  • Sharla Butler prepared a Valentine's game for us matching clues to some very red items.  Some tables had no trouble, googling the answers.  Those of us that didn't use the internet or the same answers for multiple clues, but relied on their own knowledge had a lot of fun.  An additional prize for the "pick up line" that best illustrated the 4 Way Test was won by Danny Koch.

  • Sue Masterman discussed the preparations for the MEXICAN FIESTA International Dinner being held Saturday February 27, 2010 at the Curling Rink.  This event is going to be Que Chido!
  • Tickets sales are approximately at the 100 mark - 50 for the Pace Club and 50 for Sunrise.  Sue appealed to club members to return your cash for the tickets or any tickets that weren't going to be sold ASAP so that the committee could redistribute the tickets to those who need them.
  • A volunteer sign up sheet was circulated and many spots were filled.  Please be sure to let the International Committee know when you can work a shift during the evening!  There will also be a need for a few people to stay for a while after the event to clean up our props and possessions.
  • There will be a prize for the Chico or Chica whose trapos de vestirse for the evening gets us most into the spirit of the Fiesta.  (ie most festive outfit!)
  • Silent Auction items.  Clare is very disappointed.  Please help cheer Clare up.  We would like at least one item per club member.  So far he has 18 items from 11 donors.
  • Bob Johnson has been able to arrange his travel schedule to be here in the Hat for the Fiesta and will be joining in the festivities.  He will try to get us a couple of paintings from Pasitos de Luz for our silent auction.
  • Bob Johnson will be in town for the Fiesta, but he is a master painter by trade and would be happy to do a few painting jobs while he is here in the Hat.

Sargent at Arms Bill Cooper collected Happy $'s and fines.  There were a lot of happy people today! The 50/50 ticket was held by Bill Lloyd, but he was be-bop-boinged by Mr Cooper.  Better luck next time.
