District Governor Visit

Assistant Governor Mike Christie introduced RI District #5360 Governor Pat Killoran (and his wife Linda) and provided the Club with a brief summary. Pat is passionate about the International programs of Rotary. He was born in Toronto the eldest of 13 children, has been married to Linda for 44 years. Together they have three daughters and three grandsons.
 

Pat has been directly involved with his Club's international project work in Fiji, Costa Rica and Malawi. He is an agricultural economist by education and also had a career with Scotiabank for 33 years. His banking career provided him with the opportunity to live in Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary, Barrie, Saskatoon, Brandon and Lethbridge.

Pat shared his experience as a Rotarian. What role each one of us have to become totally engaged, how do we stay engaged and what we contribute to our club as Rotarians. What draws you to become a Rotarian and what keeps you in Rotary were some of the questions Pat posed to the members. As leaders we need to foster the passion of the members in the Club, which is how we as an organization can retain our existing members as well as attract new members. Meeting Notes:

  • Draw - $15.00 day money, Pot $287.00 name drawn was Craig Elder however he was not successful in drawing the correct card. Better luck next time.
  • Paul Heywood advised the Club that on September 23 there will be a golf game with dinner following. All Rotary clubs are invited. Details are on the ClubRunner site or you can contact Paul. Everyone including spouses are welcome.
