Shirley Jago from the Canadian Paraplegic Association provided the club with a power point presentation about accessibility for the disabled in our community.  Her presentation was based on a universal design concept that suggests all people including the disabled should be "welcome to the space".

All disabilities such as people with canes, wheelchairs, strollers, visual and hearing should be able to move freely with in our community.

She went on to show spaces that provide a welcome and then spaces that said not welcome.  Some of the areas she compared were very obvious such as washrooms, but went on to many examples most people don't think about such as vanities and mirrors, change rooms, water fountains and signage.

She talked about Medicine Hat transit has accessible transit busses but doesn't have all the bus stops handicapped accessible.
