Guest speaker was Mr. Nick Gale, Vice Principal at Mother Teresa School who spoke about the new breakfast program that has been implemented at the school in response to a demonstrated need. They are looking for sponsorship from service clubs to pay for the food; parents are volunteering to deliver the food to the classrooms.

Meeting Notes:

  • Amarok Society has produced a film called "Heart to Head" that will be shown at the Medicine Hat College theatre at 7pm on November 6; admission is by donation. We have sponsored this group in the past and are encouraged to attend.Random Acts of Kindness takes place throughout the city on Friday November 1. Members are encouraged to get involved and "pay it forward" with kind deeds - and be sure to register the deeds on the RAK website. Sunrise Rotary members will spend an hour or so at the regional hospital paying for guest parking on Friday morning.
  • A club social was held on Saturday night October 19 with a dinner at Local downtown. Although only four people attended they said it was a great time. The next event will be held in November and it was suggested that it take place right after work so that more members might participate.
  • The dictionaries will be delivered to the schools by the club members following the November 5 meeting. Clare (and daughter) are looking after the labels so we just need help with the delivery. Fred will be here that day to assist with the organizing.
Fines and happy dollars were collected. Bonnie had the lucky ticket but an unlucky card.
