Meeting called to order by President Sharla Butler at 7:15 with stories of new pet ownership.  Good luck with that.  Singing also required some form of outside intervention but nothing was forthcoming.

 

Program/Meeting Notes:

1.) Opportunity to recap the year.  Sharla had previously challenged us as Rotarians to do what we could to bring peace to the world, within our inner circle and beyond.  She summarized the accomplishments of our group for the 2012-2013 Rotary Year.

a.)  Ride the road to reading program.  3000+ children in Medicine Hat participated in this program.  We received a thank you card from the young girl who received the bicycle as part of this program. 

b.) We joined the Rotary World Help Network.  This program allows us, at a nominal fee, to support Third-world countries in getting much needed supplies (medical or school-related).

c.) Mexican Fiesta was a success in supporting the Mexican School Project  

d.) We provided support to the St. Pat's Outdoor Program. 

e.) We supported the Skateboard Association Construction project.

f.) We supported SPCA in their bid to build a new facility. 

g.) Development of Medicine Hat Scholarship Program. 

h.) Support of Psychologists to Lesotho

i.) Stampede Raffle

j.) Guess Who's coming to Dinner night

k.) Mexican shoe projects

l.) Our Legacy project: Medicine Hat College Trails and Trees Project

m.) Dictionary Project to local elementary children

We need to find some greater revenue sources in order to continue to provide the support that we have provided to the local and international community...
