Hello everyone and trust that everyone had a good week. 

 

To finish our week off,  we had the very successful 100 year baton relay in memorial Park on Friday. We had a number of distinguished guests to launch the baton relay for district 9640, along with our friends at Grafton, Maclean & Yamba rotary and community members. 

 

Dynamic DG Andy handed the baton over to mayor Jim for him to address the crowd. The relay was then started. Their were many walkers who carried the baton for a period of time, continuing over the old bridge then back across the new bridge.  Thank to to Lee for all your organisation of the schedule for the walkers. We had so many helpers for the event that I cannot name each one,  so I extend my sincere thanks to all our helpers on the day that assisted to make it a such a success, regardless of how big or small. Our Purple shirts looked amazing. There are many photos to remember such an important event. We had media representatives reporting as well, so lots of publicity to spread the word what we do in Rotary.

 

At our regular Wednesday meeting we finally put our annual AGM behind us until next year. Thank you to each member who nominated and accepted your positions on our team for 21/22. We have all positions filled! Both Lee & I are looking forward to working with you all to continue the great work we do in the community,  and to keep our club in good stead for the future years.  Thank you to Sargent Mark for running the meeting, keeping to the agenda and staying  on time. Certainly a sigh of relief.

 

This week we have Richard Crandon coming along to our meeting, and will take back the birthing kits.
