PRESIDENT RUMBLE

Hello everyone, I trust that everyone had a great week after celebrating Australia day on Tuesday.

The combined BBQ Breakfast at See Park

on Tuesday was well attended where around 50 Rotarians, Inner Wheelers, and members of the community attended. We launched our new 6m x 3m Marquee which was erected in super quick time with no less than around 10 Midday Rotarians needed for the task, a record! A nice BBQ breakfast was enjoyed and a relaxed morning with around the Rotunda was enjoyed.

Our Wednesday meeting was another informative meeting with our Birthing Kits leader, Leila explaining the process and background behind this worthwhile project. She was ably assisted by David holding up the board showing items included in each ki

t. Following on from this, we had another successful working Bee putting together around 150 more kits on Saturday afternoon. A big thank you to David & Leila for hosting the afternoon for the volunteers being; David, Leila, Avron, Judy, Don, Bob, Kathryn & yours truly. Richard Crandon will collect these kits when he visits our club meeting on Wednesday 10^th March.

This Wednesday we will have our AGM. It will be great to see as many members present on the day, however there is no need to be apprehensive to come along as I believe we have nominations for all positions, however if you haven’t indicated your preference to become a member of the board make sure you make a nomination on the day.

Friday will see our 100 Year Baton launch at Memorial Park. It is a Friday & we understand that some people may have to work, but if you can make it along it will be a memorable day for our club to be part of.

The board had another productive and informative meeting on Thursday night. The meeting opened with Chris, Dick & Ian from Grafton Rotary to discuss the Baton launch proceedings. We will bring the Board summary to a club meeting soon to bring members up to date with projects & outcomes.

100th Centenary Baton Relay Walk

100^th Centenary Baton Relay Walk - Friday 5th February 2021

WORKER WILL BE REQUIRED ON THE DAY AS WELL AS WALKERS.

Combined event with Grafton & Maclean Rotary at Memorial Park Grafton.

8:00am Club members assemble at Memorial Park, setting up BBQ, marquees, PA sound system and COVID Signage etc.
Don’t forget your purple 100^th T-Shirt if you ordered one!
9:15am Public assemble at Memorial Park to register COVID safe procedures.
9:45am Mayoral Speech
10:00am Baton Walk commences from Memorial Park marquee area/dais with the Mayor Jim taking the Baton walking the first section, then will be shared over the 4 km walk over the bridges and back to Memorial Park with AG Anne and the 3 Club Presidents.
BBQ ready to go by the end of the walk around 10.45/11:00am for lunch.
Cost of BBQ is $2.50 Sausage Sandwich & $5.00 for a Steak Sandwich.
Finish/Pack up by 12:30pm.

FRIDAY NIGHT RAFFLES

Our club has the Friday night raffles at Roche's Hotel

Start time will be from 5.00 pm till 7.00 pm Proceeds will go towards the

defibrillators project. Tickets can now be presold and will be sold at our normal meeting.

Come along and help and enjoy the fellowship.
