We welcomed Zahli Stevens who brought in her beautiful Recipe books that were part of her fundraising for the Jacaranda Festival.  They look amazing with lots of different ideas for cooking up a storm in the kitchen.  Even I was inspired to try out a few of them.  We were also pleasantly surprised to see David Thompson and catch up with him before he heads off to Armidale next week.

Leila Thompson had been approached by Keith Brown – Head Teacher Student Wellbeing Initiatives, Department of Education who is seeking assistance from the community to become involved in the Youth Aware of Mental Health – Helper Training program.

Youth Exchange Program update – A successful meeting with the Grafton Rotary Club was held on Saturday with Robert Blanchard, Peter Robinson, Leila Thompson, Lee Taylor, Annie Lydon and Russell Jones with a positive outcome.  Our club will be taking on our Exchange Student Drew commencing from Mid January 2020.  We are seeking families to host or club members.  If you have any questions or would like to host Drew please contact Robert Blanchard or myself to discuss further.

Peter discussed the Christmas Carols roster and has teams organised for all the jobs.  The gates open at 5pm to the public and it is imperative that the parking be organised as tightly as possible to ensure all our supporting community can leave smoothly without being parked in.  A debrief will occur at 3pm Saturday 30^th November at Alumy Creek so please be prompt on the day.  More information to come next week.  Please keep inviting your friends and family and share the event on your facebook pages.  Should you have any questions please contact Peter Robinson.

Jenny Hyland spoke about the Christmas party on the 15^th December – Barefoot Bowls at the South Grafton Bowling Club.  They have decorations and we can use the kitchen facilities.  Please invite your friends and family and bring along a plate or nibbles to share. We will be having a Kris Kringle Secret Santa – please bring a gift to the value of $10 to the party.  Don Cardow is organising the teams for the day and hopes for a quicker session, bowls are supplied – Mark Thompson suggested Bowling Overarm could assist for which he deservedly was fined by our Sergeant.

Robert announced that we received a Thank You card from the Jacaranda Matron of Honour Suzanne Campbell – this was passed around and also that the District Governor had announced that the District 9640 “Water for The West”appeal has a change of name to District 9640 “Water for the West and Fires”

Robert covered the summary of discussion of the board regarding the positions for next year.  The board has decided that the following positions will be merged with other board positions;
      Membership – to Club Service
      Foundation – to Service Projects
      Public Relations – Other board member
Brian ensured that the positions will not be deleted and forgotten as concerns were raised particularly about Foundation as this is one of the core service areas of Rotary.  The positions overlap in most instances and the reduction of the board positions will enable a quorum more readily and reduce Board meeting times.

Trivia Antics and Musical Bingo fellowship.....was enjoyed so much last week that we attended again this week.  Wednesday nights Midday Rotary enjoy the Trivia night at Roches and I would like to remind you that all Rotary members, family and friends are welcome - numbers required at the lunch meeting.  Rotary members also attended the Jacaranda Hotel for some fun at Musical Bingo - another fun night of fellowship.
