UNRESERVED APOLOGY
I am a foundation member of our club and was asked to speak at last week’s meeting on the NSW budget announcement pertaining to the Grafton Base Hospital.
As members may know our State member Mr. Chris Gulaptis promised on 5 March 2019 a $263.8M Grafton Base Hospital upgrade,
and that construction would commence by March 2023.
Subsequently he reiterated this on multiple occasions in multiple forums and was supported by Premiers Berejiklian, Perrottet and
Deputy Premier Barilaro but no money was allocated until last week’s budget of $1M.
Prior to our club meeting Rural Health Minister Bronny Taylor made statements on local radio which I totally disagreed with,
and I was aware the following day Chris Gulaptis; Ryan Park the Shadow Health Minister and myself would also be on radio;
with a Prime7 headline interview that night, and plans for more.
As I do not believe my passionate language supporting the GBH was appropriate in our club forum, I unreservedly apologise to all members present.
