Many Hands Make Lights Work

As a kid, few things were more magical than being packed into the car and driving around the streets exploring the brightest and best Christmas lights.

Last year, Amanda Ryder tried to recreate that magic at her own house and for the first time entered the Christmas Light-Up competition. This year she, along with her friends at Midday Rotary, are going one better and organising the competition themselves.

"It just seemed to have waned a little in recent years so a couple of us in Rotary thought we could take it on," Ms Ryder said. The competition, which is open to residents across the Valley, has been kick-started courtesy of Cetnaj Grafton which has donated a $500 gift voucher for the lucky winner.

And for Ms Ryder the joy of entering is prize enough. One Grafton family does such an epic job, they are able to charge money and donate funds to charity. "I'm really excited about our club breathing life back into the Christmas Light-up," Ms Ryder said.
