Yesterday during lunch I was the guest speaker at the Grafton Midday Rotary Club meeting. My presentation topic was a reflection on the Rotary-sponsored professional exchange I undertook back in 2014 to Mexico and New Orleans.
It was nice to once again reflect on that unique experience I shared with teammates. I met so many great people over there in Mexico and New Orleans.
I genuinely hope to return to Mexico and New Orleans one day along with my wife and three kids so I can show them how brilliant these places and people are.
For any professional out there aged 25-40 I highly recommend undertaking such an exchange (now called a Friendship Exchange). Sure there will be some challenges/difficulties you will experience along the way, but overwhelmingly you will find the experience to be extremely valuable and memorable.
