After months of fund raising we as a club have donated the funds to purchase a new defibrillator to the Grafton Base Hospital. A total of $12,300 was required to deliver this life saving equipment to the local hospital. A presentation was made on 27th March at the hospital.
Defibrillation is a treatment for life-threatening cardiac dysrhythmias, specifically ventricular fibrillation (VF) and non-perfusing ventricular tachycardia (VT). A defibrillator delivers a dose of electric current (often called a countershock) to the heart.
