Oceanfest Bundaberg Celebrating

Our 10th Anniversary in 2027

Bringing people together through a major annual community event has long been a key strategic priority of the Rotary Club of Bundaberg Sunrise. For more than 20 years, our signature event was the highly successful Bundaberg Multicultural Festival, celebrating cultural diversity and creating lasting community connections.

As the region’s events calendar grew, our members recognised an opportunity to develop a new event with a distinctive local identity. Following extensive research and groundwork, former member Gary Kirk, supported by a dedicated group of Rotarians, presented the concept of Oceanfest to the club. Members embraced the proposal, beginning a new chapter in our community service.

The inaugural Oceanfest was held in 2017, receiving enthusiastic support from residents, businesses and community organisations. Apart from the interruption in 2020, the festival has continued to bring people together at the picturesque Bundaberg Port Marina precinct.

In 2027, we proudly celebrate Oceanfest’s 10th anniversary, recognising a decade of local seafood, marine discovery, entertainment and community generosity.

Oceanfest showcases our region’s seafood industry, coastal environment and local talent while offering a welcoming day out for families and visitors. It also raises much-needed funds for charities and not-for-profit organisations providing valuable services throughout Bundaberg and surrounding communities.

This anniversary is an opportunity to thank the Rotarians, partners, volunteers, sponsors, exhibitors and visitors who have helped shape Oceanfest. Their contributions have made the festival a much-loved community occasion and enabled our club to turn a great day out into meaningful local support.

Join us for the anniversary celebration on Saturday 28 August 2027 at Bundaberg Port Marina, Burnett Heads.
