Recently the Rotary Club of Bundaberg Sunrise organised installation of a new "wellness" seat in Innes Park for locals and visitors to enjoy while they are in the area.
On Sunday 15th July President Glenn and Past Presidents Leonie and Michael attended the unveiling of the ‘Wellness Seat’ that the Rotary Club of Bundaberg Sunrise recently organised through the Bundaberg Regional Council.
About a dozen happy locals and a handful of children were on hand to witness the consecration of the seat by Cynthia Hoogstraten, who thanked members of Rotary for picking up this community project for the people of Innes Park.
Leonie and Glenn said a few words on behalf of our Club and we acknowledged Stewart McCulloch for flagging this project in so that we could appropriately expend the ‘Community Grant’ that the Club had successfully applied for.
The seat is dedicated to sufferers and survivors of Cancer and gives a place where residents and visitors can spend some peaceful time and contemplate ‘life’ or just enjoy a picnic with family. The seat is in a lovely location, which is to the left side of where the Innes Park Boat Ramp had previously been.
There is some more work to do around the site that we’re looking into and hope to plan a working bee and barbecue in the near future.
If you’re in the area, why not stop by and take a load off on the new “wellness seat”.
