Rotary Member Spotlight: Eileen Culley!
When it comes to rolling up her sleeves and getting things done, Eileen Culley is the definition of a boots-on-the-ground Rotarian. Whether she’s connecting with local business owners, spreading the word about our mission, or putting in the work on the ground, Eileen leads with passion and purpose.
She is also the driving force behind our club’s ongoing support for our military service members. We asked Eileen why our Veterans projects mean so much to her, and here is what she had to share:
"Through being a member of the Hamlin Lake Ariel Rotary it enables me to participate and learn from the many Veterans advocate groups that form The Wayne / Pike Veterans Coalition. This extends our community service projects beyond the focus of our local children and seniors.
An observation I took away from my friendships formed with an active duty team of Navy SEALs is how diverse they were yet like puzzle pieces created an outstanding, formidable unit. We in our club strive to utilize individual strengths and encourage each other to develop abilities knowing support is always available.
Some of our projects such as the Safety Fair on September 12 are now familiar while others we dive into and wing it. That often leads to fun! Join us and see for yourself please.
If I may, I’d like to extend a brief message to Veterans. An analogy. We loved our Moms. We knew they knew it but often it took their birthday or National holiday of Mothers Day for us to express it. As Veterans Day approaches please allow the same forgiveness Mothers grant . Your sacrifice and service are genuinely appreciated. We just sometimes need the nudge to remind us to say it. Heartfelt Thank You."
Thank you, Eileen, for your unwavering dedication, leadership, and heart!
