This past week was "Apple Week" at EverGreen Elementary School.
What better way to spend it than reading "Andy & Elmer's Apple Dumpling Adventure" to the second grade classes.

The Rotary Club of Hamlin/Lake Ariel presented "Andy & Elmer's Apple Dumpling Adventure" to the second graders of EverGreen Elementary School as part of our literacy program for 2019. Rotarians Terri Ditty, Lynn Scramuzza, Karen Kosky, and Eileen Culley, along with Club President Laura Rowe, visited the students on the morning of October 22nd to read the book to the classes. In addition to listening to the story being read to them, the students also received a coloring & activity book for their enjoyment.

Andy & Elmer's Apple Dumpling Adventure was created by The Rotary Club of Fairbon, OH and focuses on promoting the "Four-Way Test" of Rotary. The Rotary Four-Way Test is as follows:

Of the things we think, say, or do.
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL, and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

This book uses a clever story line that is easy for the children to understand and promotes these very important lessons in life.

More information can be found here about this project and information on how to order.

Thank you to the Rotary Club of Fairborn, OH for such a fantastic and engaging activity for our seconder graders!

P.S...Doesn't our very own Karen Kosky resemble the main character of the book? :)
