Jeff Hathaway  explored the possible identity of our Hamlin Club. There being the Service factor as the primary reason for being, it would seem that a social aspect is necessarly to keep up the 'esprit de corps'.  Should it be a 'prudent and quiet' group, a 'hail fellow, well met' group, or a downright 'rowdy' group?  A holiday party already under our belts, a summer 'family picnic' in the works, a spring 'flea market' with all involved, and a fall gala yet to be developed, it would seem that we are fitting in the middle; a good place to start!

Our annual golf tournament in June will give everyone an ample opportunity to interact.  On to "Let's Lighten Up a Little"!

In the areas of service we've made a modest start, the benches projject, the bleachers project, and the on-going Food Pantry project are cases in point.  We need to identify more and new "local" projects.

Vocational local projects, under the leadership of director Bill will give us many opportunities as described in the Bulletin of 11/20.

The area of youth services in both the International and New Generations avenues offer us the "greatest" opportunity to serve.  Sally will make contact at Western Wayne to recruit one or more new members with the eye in mind to establishing an Interact club at that site.  Here we have a fabulous opportunity to establish a scholarship program for a "Service Above Self" award, AND set in motion an exchange program at the local, district, or internatinal level.  We limited only by our imagination and our ability to raise money!  It is here that Ted and Fred will develop the programs.

And finally it was broached that in order for us to grow and keep the members that we have, an adjustment needs to be made in our meeting days.  It was strongly advanced that we revert to an oft proposed plan to meet on alternate Tuesdays and Wednesdays!  This will serve to make available membership to more local people and lighten the load for some of our current members.  In that RI only requires 50% attendance, and that a committment to service is far and above the simple "being there" your President strongly advises that we take this step.  Do it!
