The Rotary Club of Hamlin - Lake Ariel held its first ever Reverse Raffle on Thursday October 5. Tickets were limited to 150 and sold out for $100 each. The drawing was held at RPlace in Hamlin and featured hors d'ouevres, pasta bar and desserts. 
All 150 tickets were drawn with each 5th ticket winning a basket or gift certificate. The final 5 tickets were awarded monetary prizes ranging from $250 to $4000. Cash winners included club members Joanne Firestone and Herb Black, local business owners Deb and Dom Mutascio, Rotary Past District Governor Carol Hemphill. Winning top prize was Jane and Joe Martini. Jane is the owner of Lady Jane's Spa and Boutique in Hamlin and is a member of the North Pocono Rotary.
 
The club will be utilizing the funds raised to complete the purchase of a gazebo for the Hamlin Senior Center, a project supported through a district grant, as well as supporting other community projects. Since its inception in 2012, the club has provided support to the local food pantry, provided bleachers, benches and a swing set for Salem Park. Youth programs have included leadership training, scholarships, summer reading program, and Safe Kids Fair with car seat and bike helmets given to those in need. 
 
The club meets on Tuesday evenings at 5:50, RPlace in Hamlin. The public is welcome.
