Our Installation Dinner on July 18, 2012 was a celebration of service. Each of our past 5 presidents shared memories and accomplishments of their respective years. We thank Jeff Hathaway, Mary Ellen Richards Bentler, Harry V. Talalas, Terri Ditty and Terry Gunning for their leadership and service as Presidents. Our newly installed President Eileen Talalas is looking forward to carrying on their legacy and adding even more projects to serve our community.

The club has accomplished many projects including the establishment of an on-going food drive to benefit the local pantry. Over the years we have purchased and installed benches, bleachers and swings at Salem Park. Annual Scholarships and leadership training for high school students have been put in place. Our 3rd Annual Safe Kids Fair is slated for September 16 at Evergreen School where children can get bike helmets, life jackets, and car seats if needed along with tons of other valuable safety information. In 2017, Evergreen School was gifted books for every student in support of the summer reading program.

Lacawac Sanctuary has been a recipient of Rotary funds and manpower in restoring the Ice House. The club has made monetary donations to local EMS, Fire and Rescue companies and many other community organizations.

In addition to the on-going projects mentioned, the new year brings 2 new goals- the establishment of a Rotary Grove with the planting of 150 trees in cooperation with the Hawley, Honesdale and Newfoundland Clubs, and the donation of a Gazebo to our local Senior Center. Meetings are held on Tuesday evenings at 5:30 pm at RPlace on 590, Hamlin PA. The public is welcome. An informational Wine and Cheese party is planned for October 10 for anyone seeking more information about Rotary and how to get involved.
