On Thursday, June 6th - the Western Wayne High School held its annual "Senior Night" in the Veterans Memorial Auditorium. The Rotary Club of Hamlin/Lake Ariel awarded scholarships in the total amount of $2,000 to two students who are pursuing a post-secondary education.
In total, the Western Wayne Graduating Class of 2019 received a record amount of $4,185,696 in scholarships!

In previous years, The Rotary Club of Hamlin/Lake Ariel accepted applications for a scholarship for students pursuing a post-secondary education to obtain a non-trade degree. This year, it was decided that we would also accept applications and provide an additional scholarship for a student considering post-secondary education for a trade as well. This allowed us to provide a separate scholarship to two deserving students!
The eligibility criteria for the scholarship are as follows:

- Open to a senior that resides in the Western Wayne School District
- Will attend a post-secondary institution in the fall of 2019
- Demonstrates commitment to community services
**Priority given to Interact Club Members and first-generation college students**.
The applicants were asked to answer the following questions:
- What does community service mean to you? (500 words max.)
- Where do you see yourself in 7 years? (500 words max.)
- List your community service activities.
