The Rotary Club of Hamlin/Lake Ariel donated coats and provided gifts to the Victim's Intervention Program of Wayne & Pike Counties' "Adopt-a-Family" program this year!
Through our Operation Warm project, we were able to provide warm coats for the four children in the family we adopted in addition to the gifts they will receive! The mission of Operation Warm is to provide "warmth, confidence and hope to children in need through the gift of brand new winter coats. We believe a brand new coat is more than a coat. Through serving millions of children in need across North America, we have seen that a brand new coat offers a child physical and emotional warmth, confidence to socialize and succeed, and hope of a brighter future." In addition to the coats, our club participated in the Victim's Intervention Program of Wayne & Pike Counties' "Adopt-a-Family" program. Our local VIP services Wayne & Pike Counties. Their mission is to educate the community about violence, empower victims of violence to make the best choices for their individual situations, and to invite the community to envision a world free of violence. (source: www.vipempowers.org) They strive towards their mission daily by providing confidential, no-cost services to individuals who are victim's of serious crimes and need their help. They have a 24-hour crisis hotline which can be reached at 1-800-698-4VIP(4847) or 570-253-4401. The work that this organization does is truly remarkable and we are proud to support them and the families they service this holiday season!
