World Water Day - CAWST

Join us  to learn more about an organization that is important to our Club: Shauna Curry, CEO of CAWST, will be our keynote.

Based here in Calgary, CAWST is an institutional innovation, providing training, consulting and expertise in water and sanitation for the poor in developing countries. CAWST focuses on teaching people how to implement simple, affordable technologies, so they can access clean, safe water and basic sanitation in their homes.

In 2004 she joined CAWST as employee number four. As Director International Services, she led the development, testing and expansion of CAWST’s service delivery. Since becoming CEO in 2011, Shauna has further expanded CAWST’s reach and impact. To date, CAWST’s global network of 1,000 clients in 84 countries has reached 15.4 million people with better water or sanitation.

Shauna holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Bio-resource Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan. Her experience includes environmental engineering and international development in 18 developing countries. She traces her passion for humanitarian work to her parents, who volunteered overseas, and to a solo odyssey cycling from Alberta to Argentina.
