Rotary Challenger Park

The Rotary Club of Calgary has been involved with the Calgary Rotary Challenger Park since its inception in the late 1990s.  The Rotary Club of Calgary has two members serving on the Board of Challenger Park (Brian Guichon and David Holden) and several others who have served as Board members and Park leaders.  These individuals are now recognized as Park Ambassadors (Lou MacEachern, Walter Haessel, and Don Ross).

Calgary Rotary Challenger Park is a barrier free meeting and recreational facility that is accessible to all people regardless of their age or ability.  But it is more than that!  It is a model of community inclusiveness where persons with disabilities can play next to and with their able-bodied peers.
The Phase 4 addition to the Park is an ambitious $32 million activity and office building that will allow for more consistent park use and provide office space at a discounted rate to our partner organizations.  Both of these outcomes fit well with the Park’s mission and will further help the Park give back to our community through our partner organizations. Check the video showing the conceptual scope of our new phase 4 addition to the park.
