Yahoo, a New Rotary Year Begins
President Craig Henderson kicked off our new Rotary year at Sneak-a-Peak last Thursday July 6th. With many Rotary family members present it was a great opportunity to kick back and have some fun catching up on what everybody has been doing and enjoying the Grand Stand Show including great music, dancing, drone and fireworks show.
Craig introduced PE Joe Fras for the invocation, 2023 Stampede Princess Sarah Lambros and 2023 First Nations Princess Alayiah Wolf Child. We all joined in a chorus of OCanada led by 4 young and enthusiastic members of the Young Canadians. With a big chorus of YAHOO led by Harvey the Hound …. OOOOPS that should be Harvey the Horse, our new Rotary Year was installed and off to the races.

At our luncheon meeting on June 27th,then- President Madeleine gave us an overview of her Annual Report and spoke about some of the many highlights of her year. She also “formally” welcomed Craig Henderson into his role as President for this coming Rotary year. Read more for the "CUTTING OF THE TIE"!
Here's some exciting news to share regarding the upcoming Rotary year. We will be continuing the tradition of delivering informative and engaging articles through our COG publication. Starting on July 11th, the COG will be published every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, with the deadline for article submission being the preceding Friday.

A Big Thank you to our BBQ Volunteers who came out to support Rotary’s Reconciliation Efforts, Build Trust and Friendship with Indigenous Peoples on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Rotarians, Friends and Family donned aprons and gloves, flipped burgers, served coleslaw and beans and took part in the celebration of Aboriginal Awareness Week Calgary’s Family Day and Pow Wow on June 24, 2023 at Enmax’s Elbow River Camp on the Calgary Stampede Grounds.
This year's Rotary International Convention was very special as it was led by our own Canadian Jennifer Jones, President of Rotary International. Not everyone can attend this convention due to the distance in getting there.
Every morning there was a major session attended by all participants featuring the best of the best speakers. Below is a list of these great Rotary speakers who are truly inspirational and continue to lead the way for Rotary around the world.
