Here are are few acronyms that are bounced around our our Rotary Club and the Rotary World to help you navigate the language of Rotary!
SIS - Stay in School.
Our club has been running a "Stay in School" program for just over 25 years. Our Rotarians are encouraged to be mentors and walk side-by-side with students so they finish high school. Contact Alana Sargent at sis@rotaryclubofcalgary.ca to sign up!
TRF - The Rotary Foundation.
The Rotary Foundation is a non-profit corporation that supports the efforts of Rotarians and their clubs to achieve world understanding and peace through international humanitarian, educational, and cultural exchange programs. It is supported solely by voluntary contributions. The foundation was created in 1917 by Rotary International's sixth president, Arch C. Klumph, as an endowment fund for Rotary "to do good in the world." It has grown from an initial contribution of US$26.50 to more than US$1billion. It has one of the largest and most prestigious international fellowship programs in the world. Every year we are called to make a donation to the Rotary Foundation so that our club can continue the great work it does in our community and around the world.
CRCF - Calgary Rotary Clubs Foundation
Calgary Rotary Clubs Foundation helps our 12 local Rotary Clubs and their members create a better community with financial management services to enhance the growth and long term management of club funds. Every year we are called to make a donation to the Calgary Rotary Clubs Foundation so that our club can continue the great work it does in our community and around the world.
