The Meeting June 14, 2016
By Doug MacDonald

Welcome to week 50 of the 2015-16 Rotary Year. President Rob welcomed us to this week's meeting and, after giving us a few minutes for lunch and networking, kicked off another busy meeting.

Happy Birthday to Sandra Elliott, Doug Hamilton, Ahmed Mostafo and Dave (not my cousin) Macdonald.

Carol Rosdobutko continued to help us get to know each other by asking each table group to share their summer memories from when we were 10 years old. As always, you learn things about your fellow Rotarians and help us connect. Thanks Carol.

There are Stay In School activities coming up that need support: June 27th is the 20th annual Stay In School golf tournament. Tom Howard told us the committee needs everyone's help to achieve our goal this year. Carol Rosdobutko asked for volunteers (who aren't golfers) to help with the annual Stay in School pancake breakfast. July 10th, our club is catering a Stay In School stampede breakfast at the Glenmore Athletic Park - details are on the web site.

A Rotary Exchange group will be here July 10-14 from Solapur, India and we are co-hosting the group with the Calgary-North Club. With support from Michael Colborne, we are taking our visitors to Drumheller to the Royal Tyrell Museum. There is room on the bus for more Rotarians. Contact Madeleine King to join the trip. There is no truth to the rumor that the bus trip includes a visit to the Bruce Millar homestead.

Don't forget to buy your tickets for the Rotary Sneak A Peek night on Thursday July 7. Details are on the web site. You can purchase Stampede passes so you don't have to stand in line.
