The Meeting August 23rd
 
Michael and Manon provided the march in music as the head table participants paraded through the room to their appointed place.  Following President Sid's opening remarks, the same duet accompanied the voices of the assembled in the singing of O Canada.  Frank Hall, serving in three capacities, greeter, auctioneer, and invocation deliverer presented a thoughtful invocation before we began our usual noisy period of fellowship.
 
 
 
 
Carmen Goss introduced a quartet of birthday Rotarians.  With the number of birthday's in attendance you would have thought there was going to be a cake.  We sang together and sang Happy Birthday to our fellow Rotarians.
 
President Sid drew our attention to get well cards in circulation for Marmie Hess who is resting at home and for Julie Visser who misplaced her appendix last week.  He also advisted we can expect a flurry of COGs shortly as our editors catch up.
 
Greg Stevenson reported on the success of the Feed The Hungry Dinner which attacted 450 patrons.  Thanks to the volunteers who helped pull this off.
 
A generous donation of two sets of tickets to the next Stampeeder game by Bill Kaufmann was auctioned off the by the multi-talented Frank Hall, raising over $600 dollars for the Curly Galbraith Global Memorial Fund.
