November has been a busy month for Western Canada High School’s (WCHS) Interact Club! Having just wrapped up our first initiative (Christmas Cards for Canadian Soldiers), students got together with all kinds of arts & crafts supplies to make a total of 290 Christmas cards for our soldiers who are away from their families at Christmas!
All cards were then delivered to the Rotary Club of Calgary members who addressed the cards and sent them to the Canadian Forces. We certainly hope these military serving personnel enjoy the love, enthusiasm, and creativity put into each and every one. However, the engagement and enthusiasm of our volunteers is only ramping up now as we get further into the semester.
Several club members have already begun participating in workshops offered by Toastmasters International to strengthen their public speaking skills and become better, more confident leaders. Furthermore, we’ve already filled up on volunteer sign-ups to help out with Heritage Park’s Once Upon A Christmas event, one of our absolute favorite initiatives from last year. We can’t wait to help make those kids’ Christmas dreams come true!
Overall, WCHS Interact is gearing up for an impactful, exciting end of the calendar year. Here’s to the club members and volunteers continuing to better our community.
